Howard Zieff was a film and TV commercial director whose movies included Private Benjamin and My Girl. Zieff was also credited with helping to make American TV commercials more entertaining in the '60s with witty vignettes, such as his "Spicy Meatballs" spot for Alka-Seltzer.
